Winter 2006 - Spring 2007

Goldcrest, Salthouse, 15th October 2005 (Steve Gantlett). Part of a spectacular fall of Goldcrests at the time, this was one of about 20 feeding in the gorse on Salthouse Little Eye.

Wryneck, Cley, 14th September 2005 (Richard Millington)

Wryneck, Cley, 13th September 2005 (Steve Gantlett). Autumn 2005 was one of the best for Wrynecks in Britain for some years. This bird spent several days in the gardens along the coast road.

Juvenile Swallow, Cley, 12th September 2005 (Steve Gantlett). On the fence at Cley beach carpark, several broods were successfully reared there again.

Juvenile Buff-breasted Sandpiper, Blakeney Point, 4th September 2005 (Steve Gantlett)

Barred Warbler, Cley beach carpark, 28th August 2005 (Mick Green)

Barred Warbler, Cley, 28th August 2005 (Steve Gantlett). Found in the early morning by Eddie Myers, this bird remained for the whole day and gave superb views in the sparse brambles and on the fence at the eastern end of the beach carpark.

Common Bittern, Cley, 26th August 2005 (Steve Gantlett). For a week or two in August, this bird performed regularly in the open to the left of Daukes' Hide.

Juvenile Sanderling, Cley, 16th August 2005 (Steve Gantlett). A delightful bird which lingered on the Eye Pool for a fortnight.

Black Swan, Cley, 5th August 2005 (Steve Gantlett). 'Blackie' has mooched around Cley since at least 2003.

First-summer Little Gull, Salthouse, June 2005 (Steve Gantlett). This bird spent most of the summer at Salthouse, mostly on the pools east of the Iron Road, but also on the duck pond and at the beach carpark.

Collared Pratincole, Cley, 8th June 2005 (Steve Gantlett). This popular bird lingered in the Cley Square from 28th May until 9th June. It visited the reserve only very briefly and spent most of its time out on the Cley side of Blakeney Fresh Marsh, usually viewable rather distantly from Blakeney Bank.

Wryneck, Weybourne, 1st May 2005 (John Furse). Ringed by Martin Preston.

First-winter Glaucous Gull, Cley, 15th February 2005 (Richard Millington). A short-stayer during some wintry weather.

Waxwing, Kelling, 30th October 2004 (John Furse).

Red-necked Phalarope, Kelling Quags, 23rd September 2004 (John Furse).

Little Bunting, Cley, Norfolk, 10th November 2003 (Steve Gantlett). This bird was often elusive, but lingered at the back of Snipe's Marsh for some weeks in the late autumn/early winter.

Pallas's Warbler, Weybourne, 14th October 2003 (Steve Gantlett). Another good bird trapped by Martin Preston at his garden in Weybourne: which may be considered an honorary part of the Cley Square!

Juvenile Citrine Wagtail, Kelling Water Meadow, 23rd August 2003 (Steve Gantlett). Found by Neil Stocks, this was the second Citrine Wagtail to be recorded on 'Moss's Pool'; the first was on 17th September 1995.
